Reimagine Linwood Park

About the Project

Linwood Park was last updated in 1992. It is a rare example of preserved open space right in our neighborhood. The Summit Hill Association, along with St. Paul Parks and Recreation, are working to redesign the space for 21st Century use. SHA has been active in hosting community listening sessions and open house opportunities for our community to shape the redesign.

This project will be completed in phases. The first phase will include redesign of the playground ONLY, made possible by a grant through the nonprofit KABOOM! SHA will be collaborating with KABOOM! and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation to ensure that community values are reflected in this playground redesign.

From there, future phases of redesigning the full park space (map below) will be made possible through additional sales tax dollars allocated by the City of Saint Paul and community donations.

Project status

On May 30, 2024, SHA hosted an open house to present project updates from St. Paul Parks and Recreation. Parks and Rec staff shared the project website and solicited public input on playground construction.

The City of Saint Paul completed a community survey based on sample designs revealed at this open house as of June 24, 2024. The City is now in the process of modifying these designs based on community feedback and plan to present again in mid-August 2024.
